Evgeny Friedman
Mr. Freidman is the principal of Taxi Club Management, Inc. in NYC, a holding company for several companies specializing in the NYC yellow taxi industry. He manages the largest taxi fleet operation in the city (850 yellow taxis and over 3,000 drivers), in addition to an insurance brokerage, a medallion purchase/sale brokerage, repair facilities, meter and electrical shops, a finance company, a claim service, and advertising. Mr. Freidman is the revolutionary pioneer who introduced hybrid and wheelchair accessible taxies to NYC. He also actively works to redevelop, rebrand, and remarket gas companies to offer alternative fuel sources (E-85, natural gas, clean diesel, hydrogen etc.) and a health conscious and organic product line at convenience stores.
As Chairman and Acting CEO of FOM Trading LLC, he received exclusive North American rights to institutional French clothing brand “Arthur,” which will be in 50 locations nationwide within five years. Mr. Freidman is also principal of Abac Management, Inc., a real estate holding and management company that owns and manages 200 residential and commercial units in the New York City area. Mr. Freidman is actively engaged in advancing the mayor´s and city´s plan to revitalize the Coney Island landscape.
Mr. Freidman is highly respected and recognized in the greater New York City community, recently being appointed by Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer to Community Board 5 in Midtown Manhattan and was named by Crain´s NY Business as one of New York City’s 40 most influential business people under the age of 40. He supports many charities from the Israeli Defense Force to the UJA Federation of New York, has set up scholarships at local educational institutions, serves as a board member for the Russian American Jewish Experience, Skidmore College’s “Council of 100,” and is Active Principal at Pencil´s “Principal for a Day” with NYC Public Schools system at Pioneer Academy PS307.
Born in the Soviet Union in 1970, Mr. Freidman emigrated from St. Petersburg to the United States as a political refugee in 1976. He attended local public schools in Queens before his admission to Bronx High School of Science, then went to graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Business from Skidmore College in 1992. He received his second degree from Cardozo School of Law, Yeshiva University in New York City and is admitted to practice Law in New York and New Jersey.
